Happy Ramadan In Heaven, Abdo !
I remember the storys you use to tell me about when you were growing up in Egypt and how you celebrated Ramamdan...a month of fasting , and then when the fast broke...it was " EID", days of celebration and feast and gifts...you had such beautiful memories of these special holidays...thank you so much for sharing them with me, habibi !

  My Habibi Abdo,
  Another morning spent thinking of you and remembering the times we spent together.  Today I am remembering the last afternoon we were together.  We were at our store and I was sitting at the table and you were standing by the big sink that you use to put the seafood in.  We were talking about the new baby we were expecting and trying to imagine what he/she would look like.  I remember you said our baby was going to be a girl and that you hoped she would have dark hair and blue eyes.  We discussed back and forth what we wanted her name to be and we compromised on the name you chose " Yasmine ' providing I could pick her middle name.  After discussing several middle names we agreed on Angelina.  " Yasmine Angelina Abdelhadi ". 

It was only hours later that our dream, our future, our lives came to a devastating halt.  You were taken from me and your un-born child without warning...without a good-bye and in a blink of an eye our hopes and dreams for our new baby changed forever.  Its gut wrenching for me to even continue any further..I can't put into words the pain and sorrow I feel when I think of you being taken away from your children and never meeting your little girl.  
Yes, you were right...the baby we were expecting is a little girl just like you predicted and she has dark brown hair and blue eyes, exactly like you hoped for.  She looks so much like you Abdo,  you would be so proud of her.  She is the little girl you always wanted.  I did make a change in her middle name.  Instead of Angelina, I changed it to Alexandria.  I decieded on this name because it is the city in Egypt that you were born and raised in.  I know how much you loved Alexandria,  I think you would be happy with my decision.

Thank you Habibi, our daughter...your final gift to me has brought me so much happiness.  You didn't have the chance to say goodbye, but this gift...this beautiful little girl is the best farewell you could have possibly given.  I will treasure her and protect her with my life.

Hi Habibi Abdo,
      Another milestone has come and gone !  Today was Zachies kindergarten graduation and although you were not there in body...I felt your presence.  As I sat and watched our little boy I was brought to tears when I felt you there beside me.  It was so real to me, almost as if you were sitting there. I closed my eyes for a minute just to totally block out everything else around me,  I wanted to savor every second of the warmth that your spirit was radiating.  I hope you heard me when I whispered out to you " Thank you,  I knew you wouldn't have missed it for the world ".  That is the kind of father you are !  Nothing , not even death will keep you from watching over your children.  Your spirit is as much alive as it ever was.  Thank you Abdo...Again, you came to me at a time when I needed you most.
I live for the day when I will see you again.  You were and still are the greatest thing that ever happened to me !

Dear Abdo,

         Tomorrow will be yazi's first birthday.  I wish you could be here to see her blow out her candles. Every little girl needs her daddy and it's breaking my heart to know that she doesn't have you.  Her life has been altered as well,   because i know she will not turn out to be the same person that she would have been...had you been here.   I would give anything in the world if I could just see your face one more time.  Sometimes when me and the kids are alone in the house...I imagine you walking threw the door and saying "I'm Home".  I picture in my mind how Adam and Zach would react if that happened.  I know that they would run to you as fast as they could laughing and shouting...daddy, daddy we missed you so much and I would proberly break my neck trying to get to you fast enough.  I know that if I ever could hold you one more time I would never let you go.   It's true that you don't know what you've got...until it's gone.  But now I know and it's breaking my heart that I can't go back in time and  let you know exactly what you meant to me.  I wish I had one more chance to say "I'm sorry " for the times I may have hurt your feelings...I can only pray that you knew that I loved you and in my eyes you were the best thing that ever happened to me.  You were one in a billion and I'll take the love I feel for you with me to my grave.  I hope tomorrow you will be watching your little yazi have her party.  Im so sorry you couldn't be a part of it.  I'm so sorry that god didn't allow you to stay longer to see your kids grow up and that you had to miss every milestone of their lives.  I know the thought alone would of killed you if you would have known it was going to happen.  I'm so sorry, Abdo.  God willing.."in sha allah"  we will all be together again.
